ZACU is classified ZQF8 which permits post-graduate course offerings

DVC Muchindu wrote the following message regarding ZACU’s institutional classification:

Good news on classification of universities:
The classification of universities has finally been completed by Zambia Qualification Framework.
ZQF levels range from 1 to 10. The authority has written ZACU to confirm Zambian Christian University.
ZACU has been classified as ZQF 8.

What does that mean?
We are at liberty to train people up to Post Graduate Diploma. Thus from certificate courses, diploma, degree up to post graduate diploma.

What does ZQF level descriptor entail?
The level descriptor provides a generic indication of learning achievement or outcomes that can be obtained at an institution of learning. It does not indicate which university is inferior or superior.
The descriptors are competence based ultimately, thus:

  1. Foundational competencies (primary, secondary schools)
  2. Practical competencies (as in vocational training)
  3. Reflexive competencies and applied skills (Autonomy and responsibility) in universities
